WHY I LOVE MY WORK | I’m Rheese K. Bhraiennis, and my passion for supporting women has grown organically over the years. The female body is inherently fluid and it is organized around the principles of cycles (i.e inactivity vs. activity, menses vs. menopause, fertility vs. infertility) but unfortunately our society is not structured to support this powerful and unique process. And so, women often come to me with tertiary health problems such as GI discomfort, skin ailments and food sensitivities that more often than not, stem from stress, long term exhaustion and emotional imbalance. Creating awareness and balance starts with an understanding that the body is always moving into one cycle, and out of another cycle. When we understand this, we can allow the natural rhythms of vitality to return to our daily life. With the foundation of a comprehensive consultation and several follow up appointments, body treatments such as Abyhanga and shirodhara and deep detoxification protocols such as Panchakarma are used to help awaken the body’s inherent healing mechanisms. I believe that a woman’s experience of her body and more importantly, her health is one of the most valuable investments that can be made both individually, and collectively!

MY STORY | With a joyful soul - greetings and welcome! I am honored to have your attention and to offer you a glimpse into the heart of my practice, Four Pillars Ayurveda. My commitment to help others attain the vitality of mind, body and spirit that they desire is rooted in both my love of learning and my commitment to listening. I believe that our body is the greatest instrument for inspiration and impact, and when nurtured properly we can truly access the life of our dreams!

As a child, my prospects of a healthful life were not necessarily bright; I had many health challenges (chronic infections, respiratory illness, migraines, and acne) which predisposed me to a life of dis-ease and depression. At the age of 17 however, I serendipitously stumbled upon the book ‘Prescription for Nutritional Healing’ which awakened me to the concept of using nutrition as a means of healing the physical body. With this concept as my foundation, I spent the next few years focused on rebuilding the structural (yoga) and functional (diet) aspects of my health. With my body stronger and more reliable than ever, my calling to help others arrived! I became a yoga instructor (with over 500 RYTs), a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, and Thai Massage Therapist. Life was good!

The path to wellness isn’t always linear however, and in 2004 I found myself deeply depleted and stressed out. I needed to loosen my grip on my diet and expand my understanding of health to include the mind. Again with some serendipitous intervention I discovered Ayurveda. Within the world of Ayurveda I learned about the powerful presence of the mind and that living in health-harmony also meant managing the stressors in my life. I received training in Ayurvedic body therapies in 2010 and began working in the field of Ayurveda immediately.

My most recent passions have included Qigong and Compassionate Inquiry taught by Gabor Mate. The breadth of my education has allowed me to offer the highest level of comprehensive care - one that honors body, mind and lifestyle. I believe that the body holds a vast and effortless wisdom and in dedicating my life (nearly 50 years) to unlocking it, I have discovered some remarkable insights. I would be so honored to share these with you and to support you as you embark upon your own path to optimal health!
